If you're ever in the mood for a fantastic meal in Murdoch, WA, you can’t go wrong with a visit to The General Sherman. Nestled in the heart of Barry Marshall Parade, this local gem has quickly become a favorite spot for both residents and visitors alike. With its laid-back vibe and mouthwatering menu, it’s no wonder this place draws a crowd.

From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that The General Sherman isn’t just about great food-it’s about creating a memorable experience. The décor is cozy yet modern, blending rustic elements with a contemporary feel. Whether you’re grabbing a casual bite or celebrating a special occasion, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. And when the weather’s right, their outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying your meal in the fresh air.

One of the standout features of this diner is its diverse menu. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast, a savory lunch, or a satisfying dinner. On a recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their signature dish, the "Sherman’s Special Burger." Packed with juicy beef, melted cheese, fresh vegetables, and a tangy sauce, it was an explosion of flavors that left me craving more. It’s clear that the kitchen uses quality ingredients, and the flavors are a perfect balance of bold and comforting. For those who prefer something lighter, the grilled chicken salad with roasted veggies is another crowd-pleaser-refreshing, healthy, and filling without being heavy.

But the real magic happens when you get a glimpse of their drink menu. With a range of craft beers, signature cocktails, and fresh juices, there’s no shortage of options to pair with your meal. On my visit, I tried their homemade lemonade, which was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. It's clear they take pride in their drink selection, and it shows in every sip.

The General Sherman has also earned a reputation for excellent service. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and eager to make sure you have a great dining experience. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and are always happy to recommend dishes based on your preferences. On one occasion, I had a special dietary request, and the kitchen was more than accommodating, adjusting my order to suit my needs without any hassle. It's this level of customer service that keeps patrons coming back for more.

What’s more, the diner has become a staple for many in the Murdoch community due to its reliability and consistency. Whether you’re popping in for a quick lunch during a busy workday or sitting down for a leisurely dinner with friends, you can count on The General Sherman to deliver a top-notch experience every time. The food arrives quickly, but it never feels rushed. Each plate is carefully prepared and presented with care, making every meal feel special.

Another great thing about The General Sherman is its prime location. Situated at 2/3 Barry Marshall Parade, Murdoch WA 6150, the diner is easy to find and has plenty of parking. Whether you’re local or just passing through, it’s a great stop to satisfy your hunger. The surrounding area offers a mix of attractions and services, so you can easily combine your visit with other activities.

For those who like to plan ahead, it’s worth noting that The General Sherman can get busy, especially during peak times. So, if you're heading over for a weekend dinner, I’d recommend making a reservation. That said, they’re always happy to accommodate walk-ins when possible, so don't hesitate to pop by.

No matter what time of day you visit, you're sure to find a dish that hits the spot. Whether you're after something indulgent or lighter fare, there's no shortage of options. With its unbeatable combination of great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere, The General Sherman truly stands out in Murdoch. Don’t just take my word for it-give it a try and see for yourself!

  • Nice place and vibe. Went for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast. 2/5 Ordered a bagel with cream cheese. But I don’t think they’re completely aware of how much cream cheese goes on a bagel, I was surprised to see so much of my bagel! Dinner. 5/5 from the sundowners menu got the cauliflower popcorn and chicken wings. The cauliflower was particularly good.

  • A charming café conveniently located near Fiona Stanley Hospital. It's a great spot for delicious food, and the manager is exceptionally accommodating. It does get busy around lunchtime, but it's a family-friendly place.

  • The waffles with chocolate is so good. The best waffles I ever had especially with blueberrries. The service was excellent because they are so kind. I also had hot chocolate milk which was yummy.

  • Stopped in at General Sherman Café and had a pleasant experience overall. The café has a comfortable, laid-back feel and the staff were friendly and efficient. The menu has a good range of options, and the take away food we ordered was fresh and well prepared. The seating makes it an easy place to sit for a while, whether you’re meeting someone or just taking a break. Prices felt reasonable for what you get, and service was consistent throughout our visit. A good local café that’s worth stopping by if you’re in the area. The parking is free for half an hour as well which is right next to the Sherman

  • The taste of the Blacklist coffee was not bad. It has a well-balanced taste, very lightly sweet, neither bitter nor acidic. The service was good and the staff was friendly. Good atmosphere. Great to have a 30 minutes free car parking zone just outside the restaurent and good enough for a quick bit time. (2025-12)

  • One of the best spots around here. Breakfast, coffee lunch and dinner including alcohol. Also has a nice music vibe always and some couches as well as outdoor seating in a shady spot. Well priced lunch specials too. $15-20.
